What is a DVR?

DVR stands for Digital Video Recorder. It is a consumer electronic device that records video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, memory card or other local or network storage device. These systems are designed to work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year of uninterrupted recordings of an event when required.

How many cameras can I install?

It basically depends on the system you purchase and the requirements of area to protect. There are systems from 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 cameras. Multiple units can be installed simultaneously in one place, with the possibility of remotely viewing each and every one of them.

Can I record audio?

YES you can. For this you need to have a camera with audio, or connect from the desired area an external microphone to the DVR unit or video capture card.

What is a Video Capture Card?

It is an expansion card that is inserted in the computer and it transforms it into a DVR. Has the function to allow the entry of both video and audio signals emitted by the cameras that make up a CCTV to handheld recording them in the hard disk so they can be displayed according to the needs of the user either live or later.
If the computer has internet connection, then it has the ability to be viewed online from any part of the world.

What happens if the disk (hard drive) gets full of storage ?

Once the images complement the entire hard disk, the system overwrites from the start of the hard disk with the new images. If you want to maintain permanent images recorded previously, then we advise to use large capacity hard disks and back up regularly.

Can I use a mix of analogue CCTV cameras?

Yes, you can mix and match any brand or type of analogue digital security camera with any brand of DVR if you are purchasing all new product.
If you are looking at upgrading your existing security system, as a general rule of thumb, if it was installed reasonably recently (in the last 18 months or so) your existing security cameras will probably be compatible. If you have an older system, or you are not sure what brand of cameras you have, we will need to get a few details about them first.

Do Security Mayor products come with warranty?

Absolutely, our products warranties are from three (3) months to two (2) years. The two year warranty is only valid for products installed by our technicians. Please check with a sales consultants. Certain conditions apply.

What is not covered by the warranty?

• Misused, physical deterioration and/or modifications damages are not covered.
• Equipment that have suffered from over-voltage.
• Warranty will be cancelled if the security seal that contains our control number has been violated.
• Warranty does not cover software or hardware incompatibility of any kind.
• Expired warranties will not be received.
• Our company will not be held responsible for damaged products caused by third parties such as transport, handling, storage or installation.

Warranty shipment is payed by whom?

Shipping charges will be covered by us if and only our warranty policies apply.
